Founded by Michael and Melissa Poole, Blue Lotus Winery is rooted in a deep appreciation of fine wines. After extensive worldwide travel and sampling diverse wines and meads, head winemaker Michael Poole returned to Central Texas to share his passion for exceptional wines. Vineyard Details and Wine Production

Seguin Vineyard

• Located on a 12-acre property in Seguin, Texas
• Features three distinct surface soil types with a common beige colored sub-soil
• Soil characteristics: Slightly acidic pH, moderate drainage, heavy clay content
• Slope: Westward, facilitates easy shedding of heavy rains
• Grapes Grown: Lenoir, Lomanto, Norton, America, Champanel, Camninare Noir, Wine King

Hye Vineyard

• Preparation underway to plant new "Walker" vines next year
• Soil Makeup: 6 inches of loamy topsoil, around 2.5 feet of caliche with limestone underneath
