Description
Brandeberry Winery Overview
Brandeberry Winery, established in 2009 by the late Jim Brandeberry, offers a rich combination of hospitality, high-quality wines, and community support, set among the scenic landscapes between Dayton and Springfield, Ohio.
History and Background
Brandeberry Winery was founded by Jim Brandeberry, former Dean of Engineering at Wright State University and an accomplished winemaker. His transition from academia to winemaking was driven by a passion for teaching and sharing knowledge about viticulture and winemaking, which continues to be a cornerstone of the winery's philosophy.
Vineyard Details and Wine Production
Located on 10 acres of hilly glacial moraine, the original vineyard featured Vidal, Cayuga, and Seyval grapes. A severe Polar Vortex incident significantly damaged the vineyard, prompting a current replanting effort aimed at resuming estate wine production soon.
