Nestled in the heart of the Middle Rio Grande Valley, our winery is not only a place of business but also a fulfillment of a lifelong dream by our founder, Fred Chavez.

History and Background

The seeds for the Chavez Brothers Vineyard and Winery were planted during Fred Chavez’s pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. It was there, while enjoying wines with Don Pedro Roberto de Jesus and looking over his vineyard, that Fred was inspired to start his own vineyard after a successful career in law. Fulfilling this dream, Chavez Brothers opened its doors on May 1, 2021, at a location steeped in community and tradition.

Vineyard Details and Wine Production

Our commitment at Chavez Brothers is to craft the Best New Mexico Wine, focusing on grapes primarily grown in the Middle Rio Grande Valley. Our approach combines traditional methods with modern techniques to create exceptional wines. Celebrating our first year, our 2021 Chancellor was awarded a Bronze Award at the prestigious Great American International Wine Competition, competing with over 1,200 entries from around the world.
