History and Heritage

Copper Belt Wines has deep roots in Oregon's soil, starting back in 1894 when Thomas and Cora Cook migrated from Kansas. Establishing a homestead in Keating Valley east of Baker City, the Cook family's legacy has been carried forward right through to their great-grandson, Travis Cook. A trained viticulturist from Oregon State University, Travis planted the first vineyard in 2004 and has been refining his winemaking craft ever since, combining family tradition with advanced enology.
