History and Background

Danish Countryside Vines & Wines roots trace back to Christmas Day 2001. It all began with a thoughtful gift from Andy Petersen to his father Allan Petersen—a wine making kit. This gift led Allan, deeply rooted in agriculture, to venture into winemaking. His early successes in their basement laid the foundation for what would soon become a fully-fledged winery. In 2003, the first vines were planted, and the restoration began on a century-old barn built in 1913, which later became the site of the winery. By May 2006, Allan and his wife Carol officially opened the winery's doors.

Ownership transitioned in January 2016 when Allan and Carol passed the legacy to their daughter, Jennifer Christensen, and son-in-law, Loren Christensen. Loren, continuing the family tradition, now oversees the vineyard and the production of our diverse range of wines.

Vineyard Details and Wine Production

Our vineyard spans several acres, and over the years, it has matured to produce fruit-bearing grapes that are at the heart of our 20 different wine varieties. The vines planted in 2003 have flourished under careful cultivation, contributing to the quality and character of our wines.
