Flying Fox Vineyard began its journey in 2006, driven by a team of wine enthusiasts with a passion for Virginia’s wine potential. Our team comprises Emily, Elliott, Chloe, George, and Tralyn, who collectively bring over fifty years of experience to the table. At Flying Fox, we are dedicated to creating wines that are not only reflective of Virginia’s rich terroir but also push the boundaries of conventional winemaking.

Vineyard Details and Wine Production

• Vineyard Locations: Our operations span two distinct vineyard sites:
  • Flying Fox Vineyard in Monticello AVA: Known for its warm climate, this site is perfect for nurturing all our red varietals.
  • Ridge Run Vineyard in the Shenandoah AVA: This cooler, elevated site is where we grow our white wine grapes, taking full advantage of the climactic diversity.
• Wine Specialties:
  • Standard Portfolio: Includes 8 premium Virginia wines, each allowing the characteristics of the grape varieties to shine through distinctly.
  • Sly Fox Series: Features innovative additions such as the 2023 Sauvignon Gris, 2022 Cabernet Franc, and the 2018 Sherry.
  • Seasonal Vermouth: Our award-winning vermouth represents a venture into flavors beyond traditional grape wines.

• Tasting Room Hours: Open 7 days a week from 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Visitor Guidelines:
  • No reservations needed; first-come, first-serve
  • Groups larger than 5 may need to split into smaller groups
