Welcome to Heaven Boutique Winery, a charming vineyard in the heart of Iowa's Driftless region, where tradition and creativity merge to offer a unique wine experience. Heaven is not just a place but a celebration of Iowa's rich agricultural heritage, art, and community.

History and Background

Heaven is located on a farm cherished by generations, specifically the childhood home of Connie Rohde Halvorson. The winery began taking shape in 1999 when Connie and her husband Roger first planted vines. The family's passion for wine is brought to life by their daughter Lisa and her dedicated team, including Chief Grape Stomper and Vintner, Carlton. The vineyard's first wines were launched in the fall of 2020, marking the beginning of its boutique wine offerings.

Vineyard Details and Wine Production

• Location: Nestled just north of Fayette, near highway 150 and adjacent to the Volga River State Recreation Area.
• Vineyard Size: Two acres meticulously maintained for premium wine production.
• Wine Specialties:
  • Mother's Little Helper and Fishing Widow debuted in 2020.
  • Love is Love released for PRIDE month, June 2021.
  • The first dry red, Amortentia, emerged in September 2022.
  • Most recent addition includes Daydream Believer (2023) and a special Watermelon wine for Fayette’s Sesquicentennial.

In 2025, Heaven is excited to introduce eight new varietals such as off-dry LaCrescent, White Cranberry, and more. Their wine slushes and an extensive selection of Iowa craft beers remain popular year-round features.

Visitor Information and Experiences

Opening Times:

• Seasonal Operation: Open each year until late fall. Reopens every spring (Next opening: May 15, 2025).

Experiences Offered:

• Complimentary Wine Tasting: Available daily to explore Iowa wines and craft beers.
• Art Studio: A creative hub hosted in a repurposed grain bin offering classes from painting to wood crafts.
• Friday Night Live Music: Regular music events accompanied by food trucks (no outside food on these nights).

Special Note: Outside food is welcome on non-event nights. Pets and children are also welcome (with respective guidelines).

• Two unique Airbnb lodging options are available for those who wish to extend their stay and fully immerse in the serene vineyard ambiance.
