Long Hollow Winery was founded in 2000 by country music artist Stu Phillips, inspired by his childhood memories of a monastery in Montreal. Initially, Stu faced challenges in winemaking which led to his son, Joel Phillips, taking over as the vintner. Joel, with a chemistry background and a newfound passion, helped to elevate the winery’s operations. The family connection deepened when Joel and his wife, Benita, who reconnected at the winery, fully took over the operations in 2013. The winery remains family-owned and has plans to expand its visitor facilities.
