Constant adaptation and innovation are at the core of their process, as demonstrated by their experimental approaches with varietals like Gruner and Chardonel.

Vineyard Details and Wine Production

At Marked Tree, meticulous vineyard management practices are paramount:

• Opening the canopy and thinning clusters enhance the quality and expression of the grapes.
• The Gruner varietal has been a significant challenge but continues to see improvements each year.
• Chardonel grapes are celebrated for their beautiful acidity and large golden clusters, which recently required structural reinforcements due to their abundant growth.

The winery also celebrated a significant achievement with every one of the ten wines entered into the NC Fine Wines Competition winning a medal.
