History and Background

Founded by Dr. Mark Karasz, Rock Stream Vineyards offers more than just premium wines; it's a testament to a passion kindled during a three-year tour in Italy. As a West Point graduate, retired Army Lieutenant Colonel, and a PhD holder in chemistry, Dr. Karasz brought his unique expertise and inspirations to bear when he established the vineyard in 2005. His experiences in Italy sparked a dedication not only to winemaking but also to the distillation of fine spirits.

Vineyard Details and Wine Production

Rock Stream Vineyards prides itself on its 20-acre vineyard, which produces over 100 tons of grapes annually. This bountiful harvest translates into 16 types of hand-crafted premium wines.

• Location: Situated on Route 14 and Fir Tree Point Road, the vineyard is surrounded by the scenic beauty of Seneca Lake.

The vineyard also distinguishes itself as Seneca Lake’s oldest licensed Grappa and Grape Brandy distillery, bringing an Italian touch to the Finger Lakes region.

Tasting Fees

• Wine Flight: $9 for a selection from dry, semi, or sweet wines, consisting of 5 wines per flight.
• Spirit Flight: $10 for a flight of 3 distilled spirits and a port, choices include Grappa, Lemon Grappa, and more.
• Beer Flight: $10 for a 5 beer flight from Grist Iron Beer Company.

Reservations

• Groups of 12 or more are required to reserve in advance.
